This line in Scandal always gets to me, because it shows how worried John really is about Sherlock’s welfare. Before that, when he thought he was speaking to Mycroft, he almost made fun of how Sherlock doesn’t eat or barely speaks after Irene’s “death”. But that was just to contradict Mycroft. Now it’s totally different. Here he has the chance to make Sherlock feel better, to “heal” him - be it his heart or his mind or whatever floats your boat. Here he is completely serious about it, so serious that he threatens Irene to come after her if she doesn’t reveal to Sherlock she is still alive. He IS worried, he wants Sherlock to heal and he would do whatever it takes to achieve that, because he’s afraid of the turn Sherlock might take in his “heartbreak”.
